Mobile Web Pixel Based Conversion Tracking

This section will cover how to implement conversion tracking for the mobile web by using Millennial’s pixel tracking method.

Required Parameters

Parameter Description
Tracking ID The unique identifier for your campaign goal, used in the goal ID parameter.

Step 1: Request a Tracking ID from Millennial Media.

Request a Tracking ID yourself in mMedia by following the steps here.

Step 2: Adding the URID macro to the destination URL.

In order to track conversions on the mobile web, you will first need to add the following macro to end of the destination URL:


This will provide a unique ID (for tracking) to be used in Step 3. Here’s an example of a destination URL with the macro included:[:_jv_urid:]

If you are working with a 3rd party tag vendor, please make the necessary updates to to pass the unique ID to the landing page URL.

Step 3: Add the following JS script request to the <head> section of the landing page.

This step is required. This needs to execute on the very first page the user is presented with after clicking on your ad.

We recommend that this is the first script call made in the <head> section of the landing page

Step 4: Send a conversion request including the Tracking ID.

Conversion tracking data is sent to using an HTTP GET with parameters that include the required information:


Please replace YOUR_TRACKING_ID with your Tracking ID.

For example, if your Tracking ID is 12345, then the call to our API would be as follows:
